Let’s Seize the Day!

Let’s seize this day and the opportunity it presents.

Yes I said “opportunity”! Every catastrophe also presents a “God opportunity” to speak into the lives of those that are searching.

In fact, the coronavirus opportunity has caused increased attendance of church services on-line. It has opened a door for many churches to supply needs in unique ways, soothing local, regional, or national pain.

It’s easy to miss or overlook the opportunities placed before us In the midst of stress, turmoil and change but here are a few:

1.  HONE YOUR DIGITAL SKILLS

This time presents a major opportunity opportunity to hone your digital skills to reach your community and beyond with the gospel message. Jesus preached to the masses. Right now the masses are on-line.

2.  EMPOWER YOUR MEMBERS

Jesus preached to the masses but He also discipled individuals. Help your members embrace change, move beyond their own stress, and start serving in creative ways. Ask members via Facebook or other social platforms for ideas on how to meet the needs in your community. Encourage them to move forward with their ideas. Demonstrating love in the form of practical assistance reaches people’s hearts and helps them be open to the gospel! [i]

3.  GROW YOUR LEADERSHIP

Times of calamity bring a third, often less appealing opportunity: personal and spiritual growth.  For more on this, check out Your Set-Backs are God’s Set-Ups.

The Good News Translation expresses the verse at the top of this article as, “This is the day of the LORD's victory”. I believe God will give us victory during this time!
